Capturing Screenshots
How do I capture a full webpage?
Open the PageSnapper popup from your browser toolbar and click "Full Page". PageSnapper will automatically scroll the page from top to bottom, capture each viewport section, and stitch them into a continuous high-resolution screenshot before opening it in the editor.
What capture modes does PageSnapper support?
PageSnapper provides four capture modes: Full Page (automated top-to-bottom scroll and stitch), Selected Area (click-and-drag rectangular crop), Element (hover and highlight specific DOM elements like tables, cards, or menus), and Visible Area (instant snapshot of the current viewport).
Can I capture only a specific part of a page?
Yes. Use "Selected Area" to drag a custom rectangular bounding box, or use "Element" mode to inspect page components and capture a specific HTML element with clean borders and no background bleed.

What editing and annotation tools are available?
The PageSnapper editor includes vector Arrows, straight Lines, Rectangles, Circles, Text callouts, a freehand Pen, and a semi-transparent Marker highlighter. It also provides Pan, Select, precision Crop, and 90° rotation controls.
Can I resize, move, or restyle annotations after drawing?
Yes. Annotations remain dynamic vector elements while on the editor canvas. Click the Select tool to click any shape, move its position, adjust its boundary handles, or change stroke colors and thickness before exporting.
Privacy & Security
How do I blur or permanently redact sensitive information?
Select the Privacy tool in the editor. Choose "Blur" for soft layout-preserving obscuration (ideal for avatars and names), "Pixelate" for coarse mosaic masking (ideal for phone numbers and IDs), or "Permanent Redaction" to apply solid opaque color blocks that flatten directly into the exported image.
Does PageSnapper upload my screenshots to external servers?
No. PageSnapper is engineered as a local-first extension. All screenshot stitching, annotations, privacy masks, canvas compositions, and file exports execute locally on your device within your browser sandbox. Screenshots are never transmitted to PageSnapper or Mashhoori servers.
Do I need a PageSnapper account to use the extension?
No. PageSnapper requires no account creation, sign-up forms, session cookies, or login credentials. All capabilities are available immediately upon installation.

What is Canvas Composer?
Canvas Composer allows you to place your raw screenshot onto an elevated presentation canvas. You can choose dimension presets (such as Square 1080×1080, Story 1080×1920, or Feed ratios), apply outer padding, round screenshot corners up to 40px, set custom background colors, and add multi-tier drop shadows.

What file formats can I export?
PageSnapper supports four downloadable file formats: Lossless PNG (best for crisp UI text and graphics), Photographic JPG (with configurable compression), Modern WebP (small payload with high fidelity), and Paginated PDF documents. You can also copy the rendered image directly to your clipboard.
How does PDF export work?
PDF export compiles your capture into a standard paginated PDF document. For long full-page captures, PageSnapper organizes the content across continuous pages, making it ideal for documentation, compliance archives, and formal reports.
Can I copy a screenshot directly to my clipboard?
Yes. Click "Copy Image" (or "Copy to Clipboard") in the export dropdown to write the flattened PNG directly to your system clipboard with zero file footprint. You can then paste it immediately into Slack, Figma, Discord, Jira, Google Docs, or emails.
Browser Access & Permissions
Why can’t PageSnapper capture chrome:// or Chrome Web Store pages?
Google Chrome’s built-in security policies restrict all browser extensions from executing content scripts or capturing internal browser URLs (such as chrome://settings, chrome://extensions) and the Chrome Web Store gallery.

Capture doesn't start or popup seems unresponsive
The active tab was open prior to installing or updating PageSnapper, or the webpage is still actively loading.
Refresh the target tab once to ensure extension content scripts are active. Wait for the page load indicator to finish before triggering capture.
Capture unavailable on internal browser or Chrome Web Store pages
Google Chrome security policy strictly prohibits extension execution on system-level URLs.
Chrome prevents all extensions from accessing chrome://, chrome-extension://, edge://, and the Chrome Web Store gallery. Test and capture on standard http:// or https:// websites.
Full-page capture repeats fixed headers or parallax layers
Some complex web layouts use fixed headers or scroll-locked wrappers that remain in place during automated scrolling.
Use "Selected Area" to crop exactly the desired content section, or use "Element" capture to capture a specific component without triggering page-level scrolling.
Clipboard copy doesn’t paste into external apps
Browser clipboard permissions may be blocked, or the receiving application does not support direct image pasting.
Ensure Chrome has permission to write to your system clipboard. Alternatively, download the screenshot as a PNG file and insert it into your application.
Very long webpage captures slow down or fail on low-memory devices
Extremely long or image-heavy webpages can require significant browser memory.
For exceptionally long pages, close unnecessary tabs and try the capture again. If needed, capture the page in sections or use an appropriate PDF workflow.
